Parallel Parking (Version 2) Real World Version

From a parked position behind the lead vehicle, move alongside, until your left mirror is just past the front of car, ensuring your vehicle is parallel, and approx an arms length away. Then, secure the car.

Carry out the P.O.M Routine, starting checks from right to left, then reverse to the first refernce point (until you can see the rear corner of the lead car appear in the rear window of the left passenger door (based on 4 door car)

Carry out an all round check again, then whilst moving at a slow speed (approx 0.5mph) turn the steering wheel 1 revolution, carry out another all round check, and continue checking every 3 to 5 seconds until you reach the 2nd reference point (the left mirror with the offside, or right rear corner of

the lead car) Turn the wheel back to the right full lock. Check the left mirror to see the distance from the kerb.

Looking at the rear window, continue to travel back until the car is almost straight, check the left mirror at least once to confirm distance from the kerb. When nearly straight, straighten the wheel by turning left 1.5 revolutions (approx 2 turns) continue travelling back slowly for 2-3 seconds, then secure the vehicle.
