Reverse On The Right

Whilst driving, start by using the M.S.M Routine to the right, as if you are turning into a road. If safe and clear ahead, and in the mirror, turn the steering to the right, approx 1/4 turn to drift towards the kerb.
Look at the kerb in the front window, (slow car by gently braking and put the clutch down to coast at very slow speed) when the edge of the kerb is approx in line with the centre of the of the dials on the dashboard, or the centre of the steering wheel, start to turn the steering wheel (not to quickly) approx 3/4 back to the left, until the car is nearly straight. When nearly straight, straighten the wheel by turning approx half a turn back to the right. Bring car to a stop if straight and approx 1 to 1.5 foot away from kerb. secure car and start next phase.

Reversing Section:

Start by using P.O.M Routine, putting the gear into reverse, and preferably starting checks from left to right, release handbrake, start moving backwards slowly at approx 0.5mph, whilst keeping the wheel straight, only making small wheel adjustments if necessary. Continue all round, or 6 point checks, checking for other vehicles and pedestrians.

Move Off And Continue To The Left Side Of The Road:

Start by using the P.O.M routine, checking

from right to left, then signaling left if safe. once safe, release the handbrake. Start moving, then turn the steering wheel 1/4 to the left. Before turning the wheel, check the mirror and ahead again, to ensure the nothing has changed, and continually check until safely on the other side, then turn the steering wheel back 3/4 until straight, straighten wheel, then continue driving down the road.
